  • The Plant Genetics and Cyanobacterial Biotechnology Laboratory focuses on the use of molecular and morphological markers in plants to study traits of agronomic and taxonomic importance, as well as the use of cyanobacteria for biotechnological applications. Currently funded researches include: Genomics-Assisted Identification of Molecular Markers for Pest and Disease Resistance, Yield and Aroma in Philippine Specialty Coffee (funded by the DOST-PCAARRD) and Genetic Variation in Philippine Coffee using Multivariate Morphometry and Geomorphometric Analysis and Evaluation of the Potential Antioxidant, Antimicrobial and Anticancer Activities of the Coffee Leaves and Pulp (funded by the DA-BAR).
