Deputy Director for Administration (DDA)

To assist the Director in addressing the administrative concerns of the Institute (day-to-day operations as well as long-term projections of financial needs, resources allocation and management of human resources). Specifically, the DDA is tasked to:  (1) deal with the bureaucracy – System-wide, Diliman-wide, College-wide, and IB-wide; (2) ensure that the database of all documents that passes through the office are put in place; and, (3) develop, together with the Administrative Officer, the performance plan of administrative staff and monitors their accomplishment.

Administrative Staff Committee: To address administrative staff concerns. To recommend the judicious use of facilities and resources.

Administrative Personnel Committee: To screen, rate, and interview applicants for administrative positions. The Director serves as Chair, the DDA as Vice-Chair, and the members include two representatives per rank and a representative of a negotiating union from among the IB Administrative Staff.

Faculty, Students, Administrative and Alumni Relations (FSAAR) Committee: To plan and implement activities as approved by the IB Faculty that will enhance the social interactions of faculty, administrative personnel, students and alumni of the Institute. To assist in the implementation of IB activities, e.g., the annual Biology Majors’ Day,  Recognition Program, Christmas and other activities.

Registration and Scheduling Committee: To facilitate the smooth registration of courses for undergraduate and graduate students. To recommend the opening of new courses based on the needs of students and the capabilities of the Institute. To assist the Deputy Director for Academic Affairs in scheduling course offerings.
